Programs suitable for children from grades 1 to 4

The staff of the children’s museum offers educational programs that are available in three different formats and have been developed in accordance with the school curriculum and the need felt by students between grades 1 and 4 to receive additional preparation.

Format 1 - Theme day

Its duration is two hours and thirty minutes. Each Theme Day consists of 4 activities that take place in a study room over the course of 90 minutes and a theme-based exhibit trail in the vicinity of the various installations at Muzeiko (with a duration of 60 minutes). The theme days are offered on 4 different topics:

• Day of Organizations 
• Day of Shapes
• Day of Energy
• Travel around Muzeiko

Format 2 - Learn through play

The duration is two hours. You are offered a choice:

• one workshop taking place in a study room (duration of 30 minutes) and a theme-based exhibit trail around the installations (over the course of 90 minutes).


• Show at the planetarium with a duration of 30 minutes and a theme-based exhibit trail around the installations at Muzeiko, over the course of 90 minutes.

Format 3 - Guided tour

The duration is two hours. The guided tour covers all the three floors of Muzeiko, thus entailing a visit to all the exhibits and is led by members of the learning team of Muzeiko. Our colleagues explain to the kids in an engaging and accessible way about the most interesting aspects of Muzeiko’s world and assign the kids certain tasks that need to be completed.

Costs of the educational programs from the 1st to the 4th grade

The ticket price is dependent on the format chosen and the language of instruction:

In Bulgarian:

Theme Day - 12 leva per child
Learn through play– 10 leva per child
Guided tour – 8 leva per child

School group visits are possible only when there is a written confirmation on the part of Muzeiko and in case the minimum number of children is 12. If you would like to make arrangements for a school group visit for a class numbering less than 12 children, you are to pay a fixed price, depending on the type of the program. For every 10 children, one person accompanying them can enter free of charge. All the school group visits take place from Tuesday to Friday. Program for kindergartens

The Muzeiko team also offers programs for children from kindergartens who are between the ages of 4 and 6. Each program includes storytelling аnd a guided tour. 

For every 5 children there should be one adult who is to accompany them and who is to remain with them during the whole duration of the tour. Adults who accompany the children can enter Muzeiko free of charge and should be with the kids over the course of the whole stay.

The ticket price for a child over the age of 4 in the case of an organized visit as part of a program is 8 leva.

Visits of pupils from kindergarten can proceed only if there is a written confirmation on the part of Muzeiko and in case the number of children is at least 12. If you would like to make arrangements for a group visit for less than 12 children, you are to pay a fixed price for 12 children.

Self-organized tour

A school group can also visit Muzeiko without registering for a theme-oriented program (as part of a self-organized tour). In this case there should be at least one adult accompanying every 5 children. There is no requirement regarding the minimum number of children. The people accompanying the children take them on a tour around the exhibits and are responsible for the safety and discipline of the children at Muzeiko.

The price of the ticket is as follows: pupil – 10 leva.

If you plan to take part in a self-organized tour, it is not required to fill out the document "request form for a school group visit", but it would be to our mutual benefit to send us an e-mail (edu@muzeiko.bg) regarding the number of children, date, and starting time of visit. We will be expecting your group and will take the necessary measures in order for you to have a more pleasant stay at Muzeiko. Thank you in advance!

A visit to the planetarium is part of the program – Day for Games. The planetarium is suitable for children over the age of 6 years. For self-organized group visit, slots in the planetarium cannot be booked in advance.

Informational tour for teachers

The informational tours for teachers at Muzeiko take place every Friday from 10:00 to 12:00 and from 16:00 to 18:00. In order to take part in them, we would like to request you to register beforehand by calling 02/902 00 02 and 02/902 00 03 or by filling out the “Registration for participation in an informational tour” form (which can be downloaded below) and sending it to us at the e-mail address edu@muzeiko.bg.

If you are teacher and would like to visit us together with your pupils as part of a program

1. Make sure that you are sufficiently familiar with the information in the attached document. 
"Rules for visits of school groups and kindergartens";
2. Download and fill out the document "Request form for a visit of a school group/kindergarten";
3. Send out the form to edu@muzeiko.bg;
4. You can expect a written confirmation that we have received your request form.
